The newly discovered principle of gravitational light bending

The principle of gravitational light bending (GLB) embedded in Mechanism-Revealed Gravitational Theory (MRGT): the principle of gravitational light bending (GLB) embedded in MRGT is the combination of the gravitational scale contour lines of space and time with the inertia principle of photon traveling (IPPT), which refers to the nature of photons tending to travel along the direction of equal space scale or equal time scale. Because the gravitational scale contour lines of space and time in the gravitational field generated by a rationally massive astronomical object (e.g., the Sun) consist of infinite number of concentric spheres with the mass center of the astronomical object as their common center, the IPPT determines that a light tangentially passes one point on a gravitational scale contour line of space and time at an earlier moment, the light also tangentially passes another different point on the same gravitational scale contour line at a later moment, a bending angle of the light is thereby formed by the traveling track of the light in the gravitational field (P. 478 ~ 487, reference #1). The principle of GLB reveals the mechanism and essence of gravitational light bending. [*Note, MRGT = Mechanism-Revealed Gravitational Theory (P. 445 ~ 514, Ch.4B, reference #1)]. The core equations in the principle of GLB are on P. 482 as Eq (4-36) and Eq (4-37) (Ch.4B, reference #1).

The newly discovered principle of GLB has been verified by citing the famous observed result of light bending closely around the Sun, the value calculated with the principle of GLB is 1.750 arcsec vs. the measured value 1.75 arcsec (P. 482 ~ 483, reference #1).

The key to understanding of the principle of GLB: (i) due to its mechanism-revealed nature, the principle of GLB in MRGT is mechanistically thus essentially different from that in Einstein’s general relativity that is postulate-based feature. (ii) As long as you have known the greatest equation in the history of science, which is Einstein’s famous mass-energy equation (E = mc^2 or E0 = mc^2), you will easily understand the principle of GLB, because the law of object’s mass doing work (P. 93 ~ 109, Ch.1A, reference #1), which lays the foundation of the principle of GLB, also reveals the mechanism behind the greatest equation (P. 114 ~ 118, Ch.1B, reference #1).
